The Burger King McLamore Foundation today announced the appointment of Sherry L. Ulsh as the Executive Director of the Burger King McLamore Foundation, effective April 11, 2005. Ulsh will report directly to the Foundation’s Co-Chairmen Steven M. Lewis and Clyde W. Rucker. She will be responsible for all aspects of the Foundation including fundraising, strategic planning, marketing and program development.
"Sherry knows the BURGER KING® brand and she knows the system," said Lewis. "She has built important relationships throughout her career with Burger King Corporation and has the resources to pull everyone together to achieve one common goal."
Ulsh was previously a principal in SLU Consulting specializing in the management of marketing spending, process and policies. Clients included Burger King Corporation and Pollo Tropical. Prior to this, Ulsh was with Burger King Corporation in a career that spanned 20 years in progressively increasing job responsibilities. Ulsh was most recently the Senior Director of Marketing Finance and Analysis for the company. While at Burger King Corporation, Ulsh co-founded and was a past chair of the Women’s Leadership Forum, Burger King Corporation’s continuous learning and networking executive program, and also a past co-chair of BK Cares, Burger King Corporation’s employee volunteer program.
In addition to her professional credentials, she is known throughout South Florida for her philanthropic work throughout the community. She is a Board Member of "Hands on Miami", active in the United Way of Miami-Dade County as a Campaign Cabinet member and an Executive Committee member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative. She is a graduate of Leadership Miami and on the 2004-2005 Executive Committee. She is the current Treasurer of the League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade County, one of the most active chapters in the country. Miss Ulsh’s involvement with educational institutions includes the University of Miami School of Business Mentor program and the Fundraising committee of the Parent Academy initiative for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
"Sherry’s dedication to the community and her knowledge of the not-for-profit sector are necessary ingredients for the expansion of the Burger King McLamore Foundation in communities nationwide," said Rucker.
Miss Ulsh received a Masters in Business Administration from University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science with a finance concentration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
