GEORGE HOFFMAN

George Hoffman is President and Chief Executive Officer of Restaurant Services, Inc. (RSI) located in Coral Gables, Florida. RSI is an independent purchasing and distribution services Cooperative formed in 1992 for the purpose of purchasing the products and services necessary to operate all the Burger King restaurants in the United States, company and franchised. The cooperative purchases $3 billion in food, packaging, premiums, kitchen equipment, uniforms, signs and décor and distribution services for 8,000 Burger King restaurants in the U.S.

Prior to joining RSI in 1997, George held various positions over a nine year period at Burger King Corporation, including Vice President of Worldwide System Supply Management, Vice President of Quality and Cost for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in London, and General Manager of Burger King Restaurants of Canada, based in Toronto. Before moving to Miami with Burger King Corporation as Vice President of Purchasing in 1988, George was Director of Business and Commodity Analysis with the Pillsbury Company, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

George served 11 years at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service (ERS) in Washington DC, from 1973 through 1984. He began work at ERS in the Livestock and Meat Situation and Outlook Program Area. He also served as Leader of the Farm Sector Economic Indicators Branch, contributing to USDA's food and agricultural policy analysis programs and finally served as the Associate Administrator of the Agency. Prior to USDA, George served five years as a pilot in the U. S. Air Force.

George has a Bachelor and Master's Degree from Colorado State University and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Minnesota.
