What attracted me to BKC

The culture and leadership! Prior to joining the company, I read about the performance-based culture and proven leadership that 3G companies uphold. After meeting the team in person and having one-on-one conversations, I knew that this was something I wanted to be a part of.

My career path so far

In 2011 started in the Leadership Development Program in Miami, spending most of my time in the Global Operations department. Earlier in 2014, I transferred to Singapore to lead many of BKC’s operations efforts in APAC. My path here has been full of opportunity & learning! What’s great about it is you get a taste of several functions to create a solid foundation of the business. Also, the career progression is at a much faster trajectory than at previous companies I’ve worked for. Right off the bat, you get to make an impact on the business and first hand see your efforts translate into results.

My view on the BKC culture

The culture is like a large start-up. Everyone is there for a purpose and working hard to make it happen. Also, all your colleagues understand what meritocracy is all about, which makes the departments and teams more cohesive.

My most rewarding moments working at BKC

What started off as a casual conversation turned into a life changing move! I’ve always had the interest in working abroad, but I never actually expected it to happen. After working with the APAC team on occasion, I was presented an opportunity to join the team and ended up moving to the region soon after. Talk about a surprise!

My advice if you’re thinking of applying to BKC

Visit a BURGER KING® restaurant. Spend some time there and understand the things that went well throughout the experience and the things that need to improve. Then imagine 13,000 other restaurants like the one you were in. Your next role can impact each and every restaurant – from improving the operation to increasing the sales or even to opening more restaurants!
