What attracted me to BKC
When I left business school I was looking for a few things a) a small fast moving company b) opportunity to try different roles and functions c) potential to take on a lot of responsibility quickly d) to be surrounded by really good people who I could learn from. It was obvious from my first conversations with the BKC team that Burger King offered all the above. Plus I loved the ambition of the project.
My career path so far
e, I joined in 2011 to do sales planning and forecasting in the North America Marketing team. It was a highly analytical role as we tried to rebuild the way we looked at and analuzed the business and our performance. A year later my role broadened to include Calendar Planning, Consumer Insights, Pricing Strategy, and Performance Analysis. Then in December 2012, I re-located our APAC headquarters in Singapore to take on a more cross-functional role as the GM of South APAC. In January 2013 I moved to Shanghai as the GM of North APAC. Now I am the President of APAC.
My view on the BKC culture
Collaborative, meritocratic, aggressive in the way we set targets and do whatever it takes to achieve them. It’s definitely not for everybody, but people that really ‘fit’ can’t imagine working any other way
My most rewarding moments working at BKC
Most memorable moment definitely came during my day of interviews at the RSC in Miami. Bernardo Hees (then CEO) was the 4th or 5th person I spoke with, and after about 30 seconds of small talk he told me very clearly that if I did a bad job he was going to fire me in 3 months (I hadn’t been offered a job yet) but if I did a good job he promised to promote and challenge me faster than any of the other companies I was considering. Then he left – the whole interview was less than 5 minutes. Thankfully I’m still here.
My advice if you’re thinking of applying to BKC

How I bring it to BKC every day
